Slinkyfam Zine VOLUME 1 was created digitally using GIMP. GIMP is free software that I highly recommend to anyone interested in creating digital art.
This zine consists of photos, images and poetry that I wanted to compile together and share with others. As most of the material had already been created it didn't take too long for me to put everything all together and finalise the presentation thankfully.
Through online tutorials I learned how to fold an eight page zine using one A4 sheet of paper. I was also able to find and download templates online that I could use to fine-tune the dimensions and make my zines suitable for printing. I intially made the rookie mistake of not properly aligning pages 4-7 the first time I printed a copy out. This meant after assembling the zine I discovered these pages were upside down! I reopened the digital file in GIMP and flipped these pages both horizontally and vertically. I printed out another copy and thankfully it fixed the issue.
I'm very proud of Slinkyfam Zine VOLUME 1 and anyone can download it for free below. You are welcome to share Slinkyfam Zine VOLUME 1 with anybody you think might be interested. I would love to create more zines in the future and encourage anybody who wants to make a zine of their own to give it a try.
The zine making journey continues
Thanks in part to the incredible support of my fans. I've put together another Slinkyfam inspired Zine. The name for this zine is Slinkyfam Zine VOLUME 2.
